The first exhibition opening from the Why Jewellery project coincided with thunder and lightening and heavy rain. Fortunately inclement weather didn't prevent people from attending. There was lots of interesting discussion and interaction about the different responses to the question "Why Jewellery?". Some works were installed under the protective cover of acrylic cases and some were on open tables. The works on open tables were able to be handled and this seemed to lead to bigger groups of people exploring and discussing the ideas behind a work, its feel, its movement, the materials...

I can't wait for this exhibition to come to Australia, it'll be awesome to show two such geographically and culturally different schools of work together!!
